I wonder if you have seen the Jordan Peterson interview with TR?

Also TR is anti abortion and assisted suicide, I think he needs to be heard fully.

Thank you for the comments. I am an ashamed Anglican.

Thank you John. I hadn't followed the ins and outs of Tommy Robinson's story or the carol service, so this was fascinating to read. I appreciated your Affirm/Confront/Transform options. They reminded me of Ben Chang's book 'Christ and the Culture Wars'. He has a similar menu of options for Christians in identity politics, albeit with different headings, and takes it in a similar direction to you.

Hi John, interesting and thoughtful as ever. Im not sure if you watched the service. There was a live link on TR twitter feed. Throughout he stood in the front of the stage and was invited to say a few final insightful words. He talked of the feeling he got from the event and described himself as a sinner. He did not claim conversion, maybe he is on a journey. I was left with a sense he was using the religious cohort on stage to his political advantage while at the same time being touched by their message. The cohort on stage are in the image of Charlie Kirk a strange mixture of traditional evangelical gospel and Christian nationalism. Coin Marsh

Hi Colin, good to hear from you. I thought of referring to Charlie Kirk. It is interesting that his forthcoming book is on Sabbath observance - 'In the name of God. Stop!' That suggests to me a genuine desire for God not a political gambit. As for Tommy Robinson it will be interesting and important how he relates faith to politics. We should pray for him!

Thanks Colin. I thought about drawing in Charlie Kirk. It is interesting that his forthcoming book 'In the name of God, Stop' is about Sabbath observance. To me that speaks of genuine spirituality, not part of a political project. As for how Robinson applies his faith to his politics, we should pray!
