It stands with longstanding calls from bishops for more minority ethnic vocations, most recently by the Bishop of Bristol. The desire to see more minority ethnic leaders is a sound one, both in terms of extending the range of identities amongst clergy and widening the public’s capacity to identify with those publicly leading the church.
